Description

GEO2_CN1990 identifies the household's prefecture or city within China in 1990. Prefectures or cities are the second level administrative units of the country, after provinces. A GIS map (in shapefile format), corresponding to GEO2_CN1990 can be downloaded from the GIS Boundary files page in the IPUMS International web site.
