Description
GEO3_ZW2012 identifies the household's ward within Zimbabwe in 2012. Wards are the third level administrative units of the country, after districts and provinces. A GIS map (in shapefile format), corresponding to GEO3_ZW2012 can be downloaded from the GIS Boundary files page in the IPUMS International web site.

Comparability — General
Wards with populations less than 20,000 were regionalized (combined) with neighboring wards within the same district to create units with populations greater than 20,000.
