Comparability — General
Weredas with populations less than 20,000 were regionalized (combined) with neighboring weredas within the same region/zone to create units with populations greater than 20,000.
The 2007 Ethiopian sample had a special region (zone1, zone2, and zone3) as one of its regions. According to the 2007 Population and Housing Census of Ethiopia, the special region comprised national parks, forests, and boarding schools including university dorms with greater than 100 persons. There are person counts for the special region but the weredas, zones, and the special region is not mappable.
