Description
GEO2_TG identifies the household's prefecture within Togo in 2010. Prefectures are the second level administrative units of the country, after regions. A GIS map (in shapefile format), corresponding to GEO2_TG can be downloaded from the GIS Boundary files page in the IPUMS International web site.
The full set of geography variables for Togo can be found in the IPUMS International Geography variables list. For cross-national geographic analysis on the first and second major administrative level refer to GEOLEV1, and GEOLEV2. More information on IPUMS-International geography can be found here.
Comparability — General
GEO2_TG includes data from the 2010 sample only.
The 1960 Togo sample includes data from seven urban areas and is not comparable to the other Togo samples hence 1960 could not be included in GEO2_TG. The 1970 geography for Togo identifies the household's circonscription (districts) as compared to prefectures in the 2010 sample and could not be included in GEO2_TG.
