Description
GEO2_MA2014 identifies the household's province within Morocco in 2014. Provinces are the second level administrative units of the country, after regions. A GIS map (in shapefile format), corresponding to GEO2_MA2014 can be downloaded from the GIS Boundary files page in the IPUMS International web site.

Comparability — General
Provinces with populations less than 20,000 (based on the most recent sample year) were regionalized (combined) with neighboring provinces within the same region to create units with populations greater than 20,000.
The entirety of Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab, the vast majority of Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra, and part of Guelmim-Oued Noun were situated within the disputed territory of Western Sahara.
