Comparability — General

All the units that make up Palestine are in dispute with Israel. The disputed areas are a result of the Third Arab–Israeli War in 1967. With the exception of No Man's Land along the Israel/Palestine border, which is coded as 99, the areas referred to as "Judea, Samaria, and Gaza Areas" by Israel are divided into 16 units that make up Palestine.

Disputed regions:

  • No Man's Land along the Israel/Palestine border is coded as 99.
  • Judea, Samaria, and Gaza Areas (in dispute with Israel) make up Palestine. Data for these areas appear in all Israel samples and Palestine. In Palestine, the units are recorded separately while in Israel, the units appear as one.
