Description
GEO1_MN2020 identifies the household's province within Mongolia in 2020. Provinces are the first level administrative units of the country. A GIS map (in shapefile format), corresponding to GEO1_MN2020 can be downloaded from the GIS Boundary files page in the IPUMS International web site.

Comparability — General
Provinces with very low populations were regionalized (combined) with neighboring provinces to create units with larger populations.
