Description

GEO1_MA2004 identifies the household's region within Morocco in 2004. Regions are the first level administrative units of the country. A GIS map (in shapefile format), corresponding to GEO1_MA2004 can be downloaded from the GIS Boundary files page in the IPUMS International web site.

Comparability — General

The entirety of Oued Ed-Dahab-Lagouira, the vast majority of Laâyoune-Boujdour-Sakia El Hamra, and part of Guelmim-Es Semara were situated within the disputed territory of Western Sahara.
