Comparability — General

Departments with populations less than 20,000 (based on the most recent sample year) were regionalized (combined) with neighboring departments to create units with populations greater than 20,000.

  • Amazonas, Guainia, Vaupés, and Vichada are combined for confidentiality reasons.
  • Cundinamarca is combined with Bogotá D.C. because of how the 1973 sample's departments were identified and coded.
