Description

GEO1_TT2011 identifies the household's region within Trinidad and Tobago in 2011. Regions are the first level administrative units of the country. A GIS map (in shapefile format), corresponding to GEO1_TT2011 can be downloaded from the GIS Boundary files page in the IPUMS International web site.

Comparability — General

Regions with populations less than 20,000 (based on the most recent sample year) were regionalized (combined) with neighboring regions to create units with populations greater than 20,000. The following regions are combined for confidentiality purposes.

• Siparia and Point Fortin are combined for confidentiality reasons.
• St. John, St. Mary, St. Paul, St. George, and St. David are combined for confidentiality reasons.
• St. Andrew and St. Patrick are combined for confidentiality reasons.
