Description

GEO1_UK1851 identifies the household's division within the United Kingdom in 1851. Each census division is made up of either complete Registration Counties or parts of Registration Counties. Divisions are the primary level of geography for the United Kingdom. Other geography variables from 1851 United Kingdom include, COUNTYUK, DISTUK, SUBDISTUK, and PARISHUK_1851.

The relationship among different historical UK geographic units is described in separate files for England and Wales and Scotland.
