MIG2_5_PY indicates the person's district of residence five years ago within Paraguay. Migration district codes from MIG2_5_PY are compatible with codes from GEO2_PY.

Comparability — General
Where boundaries changed over time, units were harmonized to create units with boundaries that remain stable over time. Boundary changes for MIG2_5_PY are too numerous to list here, but users should be aware that there were changes over time.
Districts from Chaco and Nueva Asunción departments are combined together with Alto Paraguay, Boquerón, Presidente Hayes department because Nueva Asunción department was merged with Boquerón, and Chaco was merged with Alto Paraguay according to a law in 1992.
