Description
BPL1_AR indicates the person's province of birth within Argentina. Birthplace province codes from BPL1_AR are compatible with codes from GEO1_AR.

Comparability — General
For the 1991 sample, users should use the alternative weight variable AR91A434 when using the BPL1_AR variable.
For the country of birth of international migrants, see BPLCOUNTRY (Country of birth).
Where boundaries changed over time, units were harmonized to create units with boundaries that remain stable over time.
Boundary changes:
- For the 1980 and 1991 censuses, Gran Buenos Aires was a part of Buenos Aires.
