Record number of year. If less than 1 year record 0. If over 5 years skip to L19. If do not know, ask whether living over or less than 5 years. Record over 5 years or less than 5 years.


Migration Status
Ask only persons who record 0-4 year and less than 5 years in L15.


L16. Previous place of residence
What was the previous Changwat (name) moved from?

If moved from other changwat, write Changwat name. If moved within Changwat write Amphoe name. If moved from other country write country name.
For children age 0-4 year living here since birth, record "Did not move".

Columns 15-18: Migration


Column 15: Duration of Present Residence
Ask: "............ (name) ............. how many years you have been living continuously in this village or in this municipality.?"
Record the "number of years" for which a person has lived continuously in the village or municipality until 1 April, 1990.

If the respondent has lived there for less than 1 year, record "0".
If the respondent cannot tell the number years for which he/she has lived in the village or municipality, ask whether he/she has lived there for more than 5 years or less than 5 years.

Column 16: The last usual living place before moving to the current usual living place

Ask: "Could you tell me the name of the last province in which you lived before moving to this place?"

1. If the respondent moved from other province, record "the name of province". If he/she does not know the name of the province, record "does not know the province".
2. If the respondent moved within the same province, record "the name of district" that can be the same or different from the district in which he/she currently lives. If he/she does not know the name of the district, record "does not know the district".
3. If the respondent moved from other country, record "the name of the country". If he/she does not know the name of the country, record "does not know the country".
4. For children aged 0-4 who have lived in this village or municipality since birth, record "not moved" and skip to column 27.
