1. Is there any member of the household who died during the last 12 months (August 15, 2011- August 15, 2012)?
Many people do not want to talk of the dead and many others find it painful to talk about their dead persons, the enumerator has to prove prudent and careful for obvious reasons. He asks the household Head or his representative, discreetly; if there have been deaths in the household since the last 12 months. If there have been no deaths, end of the interview and go to next household.
Note: Even though a deceased person after census night is enumerated as present resident [PR] or absent resident [AR], but is not included in the deaths of last 12 months.

M1 [Names]: If there has been death in the household during the last 12 months, encircle the code number 1 and go to next question M2.
If there has been no death in the household during the last 12 months, encircle the code number 2 and end the interview, do not write anything on M2 question.
