Description
BPLCH2 indicates the regional planning unit in Switzerland in which the person was born.
Comparability — General
BPLCH2 is harmonized by name and does not take into account boundary changes between census years. Regional planning units are the second level administrative divisions of the country, after cantons.
Due to confidentiality requirements, the divisions of Furttal, Schanfigg, Hinterrhein, and Calanca are not identifiable in BPLCH2, and are grouped into "unknown".
