Description
BPL2_MZ indicates the person's district of birth within Mozambique. Birthplace district codes in BPL2_MZ are compatible with codes in GEO2_MZ.

Comparability — General
Where officially defined districts have populations less than 20,000, they have been regionalized (combined) with neighboring municipalities.
Boundary changes for BPL2_MZ are too numerous to list here, but users should be aware that there were changes over time.
In the 1997 and 2007 census, this question was asked only of household residents. In the 2017 census, the universe is all persons.
