Explore how IPUMS created this variable
Most IPUMS data transformations are performed using variable harmonization tables that specify how each value in the source data is recoded. Some variables also require programming logic in addition to the harmonization table. The harmonization documents for this variable are:
- Harmonization table
- No supplemental programming
- Instructions for interpreting harmonization documents
Description
PWRKFR indicates the respondent's region of work within metropolitan France.
Comparability — General
This variable is comparable across all samples apart from minor differences in the universe of persons who responded. The 2006 sample provides information about whether a person works in the municipality, department or region in which they live, but does not provide enough information to integrate by region of work. See the unharmonized place of work variable for more information.
