MTONGSL indicates the primary language spoken by the individual -- the main language they learned in childhood.

Comparability — General

The 2004 and 2015 Sierra Leone samples also record the second language, if any, spoken fluently by the respondent in the variable LANGSL2.

The data are fully comparable across census years, apart from a minor universe difference: the 2015 census addressed the question only to persons in private households.
