Question 3 - Floor space of private house, part of private house, individual or communal apartment (sq.m)

Total and living floor spaces are indicated in specially outlined frameworks.
The floor space is written down in whole square meters without decimals. The record is made in figures (e.g. 5; 13; 44; 105, etc.) in specially outlined frameworks. Rounding should be guided by the rule: if five or over five decimals follow after the point then one is added, if less than five decimals follow after the point then these figures are ignored (e.g. the figures 12,5; 12,51 should be rounded to 13, and the figure 12,49 -- to 12).

Total floor space of private house, part of private house, individual or communal apartment is defined as a sum of floor space of all living rooms and ancillary facilities (kitchens, bathrooms and shower rooms, pantries, toilets, etc.), including the space of built-in closets, hallways, inside corridors.

In communal apartments the total floor space is conventionally divided among households living in the dwelling and is indicated in each of them accordingly taking into account the number of members of those households.

The total floor space does not include the space:

a. of stairways, porches, elevator halls, lobbies
b. occupied by projecting structural elements and heating furnaces
c. adjoined buildings that are not heated (patios, porches, mansards, attics)
d. detached summer kitchens, pools, sheds, gazebos, etc.

The living floor space includes the floor space of all living rooms occupied by a household.
If a household occupies a part of a room you should indicate the floor space that accounts for its share of the total floor space of the room (e.g. if the room of 24 sq.m. is occupied by two households consisting of one and two persons then each household occupies 8 and 16 sq.m. respectively).
If a household occupies only a part of the floor space and leases the rest of it then for this household both the total floor space and living floor space it owns are indicated.
