Description
FBPL indicates the country where the person reported his/her father was born. For Canada 1891 and United States 1880a, province of birth in Canada is reported for some records. For details on the United States birthplaces, refer to variable FBPLUS
The codes for FBPL are the same as BPLCNTRY, and are compatible with IPUMS birthplace variables.
