Section IV: Questions regarding individual characteristics (11-42)
This section includes questions (questions 11-42) about the population's social and economic characteristics. In this section, only write the characteristics of those people present at the time and place where the census is being conducted.
Whether or not the household head is at home, be absolutely sure to begin by first writing his/her name and surname on the first line of Section IV, together with all of his/her characteristics (from question 11 to question 42). Take care that the household head's name and surname entered in this section is identical to the one written in in the first line of Section III.
After writing down all of the characteristics of the household head, whether he/she is at home or not, also write down all the characteristics of the other household members at home, beginning from the oldest and proceeding in order of age, from oldest to youngest. After the household members, write onto the dotted line in printed letters, in order of their ages, the names surnames and all the characteristics of those, who, while being present at home, are not household members. Answer questions with a box, by placing an "X" into it.

Question 14: Your birthplace?

(For those born in Turkey, write the current name of the province that their birthplace presently belongs to; for those born in a foreign country, write the current name of the country where the place they were born is presently located)

The person being administered the census may answer the question about birthplace by giving the name of the district or village he/she was born in. In such a case, ask about the province that this district or village belong to, and write the name of that province in the space provided for an answer.

For example:
For a person born in Elbistan, rather than "Elbistan" as the birthplace, write "Kahramanmara?".
For someone born in Frankfurt, write "West Germany" as the birth place.

Section IV: Questions regarding individual characteristics (8-34)
This section includes questions (Questions 8-34) about the population's social and economic characteristics. In this section, only write the characteristics of those people present at the time and place where the census is being conducted. Whether the household head is at home or not, be absolutely sure to begin by first writing his/her name and surname on the first line of Section IV, together with all of his/her characteristics (from Question 8 to Question 34). Take care that the household head's name and surname entered in this section are identical to the ones written in the first line of Section III.
After writing down all of the characteristics of the household head, whether he/she is at home or not, (except for household members not at home) also write down all the characteristics of all the household members who are present at home, beginning from the oldest and proceeding in order of age, from oldest to youngest. After the household members, write using printed letters into the pertinent section and in order of their ages the names surnames and all the characteristics of those who, while being present at home, are not household members (guests). Answer questions with a box by placing an "X" into it.

For those born in Turkey, write the current name of the province that their birthplace is presently linked to; for those born in a foreign country, write the current name of the country where they were born. Question 18. What is the current name of the province and district that your birthplace belongs to?

(For those born abroad, write only the name of the country)

To be entered into the appropriate boxes for those born in Turkey, are the current names of the province and district that the place where they were born belongs to, whereas for those born abroad, the name of the country is to be entered.

In answering the question about birthplace, the person being administered the census may reply by giving the name of the village where he/she was born. In such a case, asking for the current names of the province and district that this village belongs to, the current name of that district and province are to be entered into the pertinent box.

The province and district names corresponding to our country's current administrative structure are provided in Appendix 2.

If the province and district names specified in response to this question are wrong, or if there is doubt about whether a specified district belongs to [the stated] province, the correct names shall be entered, by referencing the province and district list in Appendix 2.

In writing the names of the province and district that the birthplace belongs to, care should be taken to determine if the district is not one of the central districts in the 8 provinces with metropolitan areas (Adana, Ankara, Bursa, Gaziantep, Istanbul, Kayseri, and Konya). In these provinces, the provincial center is comprised of the districts displayed below.

In all provinces except those provinces specified above, "Center" is to be written for the provincial center, into the space for "District name".
