Description
BPLRW2 indicates the person's district of birth within Rwanda, in 2012. BPLRW1 indicates the person's district of birth within Rwanda in 1991 and 2002.
Comparability — General
In 2006, the twelve provinces of Rwanda were abolished and replaced with five provinces with entirely different boundaries. At the second administrative level, Rwanda was divided into prefectures that were organized to form 106 districts in 2002. The districts were reorganized again in 2012 to form thirty districts with entirely different boundaries.
