Description
EDUCKH indicates the person's educational attainment in Cambodia in terms of the level of schooling completed and the years within that level, for primary and secondary education.
Comparability — General
Cambodia's education system changed from a 4-3-3 system to a 5-3-3 system in 1986 and to a 6-3-3 system in 1996. The structure implemented in 1996 comprises 6 years of primary, 3 years of lower secondary, and 3 years of upper secondary school.
Technical and vocational training programs are offered both for lower secondary and for upper secondary graduates. Post-secondary education includes tertiary technical or vocational training and university.
There are no comparability issues. The Cambodia 2004, 2008, 2013, and 2019 censuses include vocational education levels not identified in the 1998 census.
